The Nabertherm Top 220 3-phase pottery kiln with floor heating as standard – now with the new AC590 50 program / 40 ramp controller – if you are looking for a wide and very powerful kiln for full stoneware and porcelain this could be the perfect kiln for your workshop. Attractive design with good firing results. This top loader is perfectly suited for a workshop studio situation where 3-phase electric is available. Internal dimensions 590mm x 930 oval diameter x 460mm tall – a very practical 3-phase kiln suitable for professional studio production.

Understanding Nabertherm controller options

The new standard Nabertherm controller is the AC590 controller. It has 50 programs and 40 heating / cooling ramps and soaks.
 

Although no-one is likely to need 40 ramps, it is valuable to have several enabling you to do crystal glazes or glass fusing or intricate pieces that need very gentle cooling rates. Also, good for larger kilns that might need help eliminating the effect of cooler areas / heat rising.
 

The controller comes pre-programmed with several programs including the ability to set Cone firing schedules with option of Slow, Medium-Slow, Medium and Fast – we recommend the Medium-Slow and Medium rates depending upon the thickness of the work.
 

The AC590 controllers are Wifi capable (subject to being close enough to your router) and can then attach to the Nabertherm App for monitoring and recording of information.
 

CTM can help with suggested program profiles for gentle firing rates and also for 13 amp kilns, and also hold your hand from a distance with programming the controller.
