Understanding Nabertherm controller options
The new standard Nabertherm controller is the AC590 controller. It has 50 programs and 40 heating / cooling ramps and soaks.
Although no-one is likely to need 40 ramps, it is valuable to have several enabling you to do crystal glazes or glass fusing or intricate pieces that need very gentle cooling rates. Also, good for larger kilns that might need help eliminating the effect of cooler areas / heat rising.
The controller comes pre-programmed with several programs including the ability to set Cone firing schedules with option of Slow, Medium-Slow, Medium and Fast – we recommend the Medium-Slow and Medium rates depending upon the thickness of the work.
The AC590 controllers are Wifi capable (subject to being close enough to your router) and can then attach to the Nabertherm App for monitoring and recording of information.
